Breast Health & Breast CancerWe offer all the services our patients need for breast health and breast cancer education, screening, diagnosis and treatment in one, coordinated program. At the Core of our Team Approach Philosophy is a Breast Nurse Navigator
Our Breast Nurse Navigator integrates the services of our breast program and has an understanding of all disciplines involved in breast care. The nurse navigator will guide patients through diagnosis and treatment, making sure patients know their options and receive the care, education and support they need. This approach provides a continuity of care as physicians and clinical staff share in the treatment of patients.
State-of-the-art Imaging Diagnostics Results in Early DetectionDigital Imaging technology, including specially-designed imaging equipment for women with dense breast tissue, offer physicians a clearer picture. One advanced option is Breast MRI. CJW Medical Center is an American College of Radiology ( ACR) accredited, FDA approved facility. All mammograms are performed by female technologists certified by the American Registry of Radiology Technology. A better picture of the breast tissue increases the chance that cancer will be caught in its early stages when there is a better chance of survival, complete removal and typically better cosmetic results. When running any type of breast procedure, we respect your privacy while being thorough at the same time.
Image-Guided Techniques for Biopsies & SurgeriesThe Advanced technology at CJW allows physicians to be accurate and thorough in their diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer. Our innovative procedures include digital and image-guided techniques such as stereotactic biopsies which allow surgeons to view mammograms in two dimensions. which result in surgeries and biopsies that are less invasive and allow surgeons and radiologists to target lesions, cancer cells and tumors more precisely and accurately than ever before. No referral is necessary to schedule a screening mammogram, but you must have another physician (such as OB/GYN or PCP) to whom the results can be sent. You will receive a letter explaining your results and you will be contacted within 48 hours if additional follow-up is required. |
